Dr. Michael W. Lagana is a board-certified chiropractic physician licensed in the state of New Jersey. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree and Bachelor of Professional Studies degree from Northeast College of Health Sciences, where he was a member of the Phi Chi Omega Honors Society. Dr. Lagana is board-certified by the Board of Chiropractic Examiners, covering parts 1-4, and physiotherapy.
Initially starting his undergraduate education in nursing at Felician University’s BSN program, Dr. Lagana later transitioned to chiropractic, which enriched his clinical expertise and enhanced his patient care and bedside manner. His nursing background allows him to approach each case with a comprehensive understanding of the body and its needs, ensuring a holistic, patient-centered approach.
Growing up in New Jersey by the shore, Dr. Lagana was actively involved in sports such as basketball and volleyball, and enjoys hobbies like boating and snowboarding. He is proficient in a variety of chiropractic techniques, including Flexion-Distraction, Thompson, Gonstead, Activator and Diversified techniques. He also holds certifications in Advanced Certificate in Custom Stabilizing Orthotics, ConnecTX Upper and Lower Body (IASTM), and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Dr. Lagana’s approach to care is rooted in treating the body as a whole. He believes in addressing the root cause of health issues, not just symptoms, and combines chiropractic adjustments, passive modalities and manual therapy with nutrition counseling, lifestyle modifications, and exercise. By looking deeper into how the body functions at a biochemical and physiological level, Dr. Lagana helps patients restore balance and optimize their health.
